How to make a funeral slideshow here

  1. Step 1

    Gather 50–80 photos

Childhood, family, work, friends, and a recent portrait to close. Scans and phone photos both work.

  2. Step 2

    Add the name and dates

They open the slideshow on a quiet title card, with a closing line at the end.

  3. Step 3

    Choose the song

The photos are timed so they end with the music, with soft fades in and out.

  4. Step 4

    Preview, then download

Watch it through, reorder anything, and save a 16:9 MP4 for the funeral home or a USB drive.

Questions families ask

How many photos should a funeral slideshow have?

Most families use 50 to 80 photos. At about 5 seconds per photo that makes a 5 to 7 minute slideshow, which fits one or two songs. For a slideshow played during the service itself, 3 to 5 minutes is usually best; a longer version can loop during the visitation or reception.

Do my photos get uploaded?

No. The slideshow is assembled inside your browser, so your photos and music stay on your device. We only store your account and purchase details.

What does it cost?

Making and previewing is free, and you can download a 720p preview with a small watermark. A one-time tribute pass ($29) unlocks the full HD 1080p video without a watermark. There is no subscription, and while your slideshow is open you can keep editing and re-downloading it at no extra cost.

Will it play at the funeral home?

The video is a standard 16:9 MP4 file, which plays on TVs, projectors, laptops and USB drives. Ask the funeral director how they would like to receive it; most accept a USB drive or a download link.

Can I use any song?

You can add the song your family chose from your own files. Please make sure you have the right to play it. Many families prefer instrumental music during the service so the words do not compete with the photos.

Which browser should I use?

Chrome or Edge on a computer works best, because the video is created on your device. You can arrange and preview on most browsers.
